WHY A PTSD SERVICE DOG?
Being a Vietnam War Veteran himself, Tom Tackett has a personal interest in helping our Wounded Warriors and veterans with PTSD. We train and provide well trained Service Dogs that will help our returning veterans to become more independent, self confident and help them adapt to life outside the military. SOME OF THE TASKS A “CERTIFIED PTSD DOG” CAN PERFORM ARE:
• Brace • Turn lights on/off • Interrupt & redirect handler from Nightmares/Anxiety behaviors • “Cover Me” Command, Watch Handlers Back • “Block” Command, creates a barrier by stepping in front of handler to block people from approaching too closely.
